Hey there - I'm Abby and I am a female purebred American Bulldog. I am about 20 months old (born January 2009), am house trained, crate trained and spayed. I is great with kids, but may knock over little ones when I get excited b/c I don't realize just how big I am! I currently live with a 2 and 4 year old and am very patient with them. I get along well with most other dogs after a proper introduction but I do like to play rough with other dogs. I am very high energy and I have a high prey drive, so I would probably not do well with cats. I love to cuddle and sometimes, I think I am a lap dog. Can you adopt me?

Hi - I'm Bear! I am a Yellow Lab and am about 8 yrs old. I was a stray dog for a while and was living in a field in Montgomeryville behind the Toys R Us on Rte 309. Home at Last found me, fed me and is helping me find a home! I'm not used to being so spoiled since I've been living on my own for months now but I am friendly and sweet and can't wait to find a family. I am fine with other dogs and am very easy going and relaxed. Can you help me find a home?

Hi, my name is Lucy. I was very pregnant when my owner dumped me in a high kill shelter down south. I was scheduled to be put down along with my newborm babies until my foster Mom stepped in and pulled me to safety. My 7 gorgeous babies are healthy and so am I. All of them have been adopted :-) I'm very laid back & friendly, love to be petted and I know to only potty outside. I get along with my foster doggie brothers, too. I am almost done my treatment for heartworm and once my blood is tested in a few months to make sure the heartworm is gone, I'll be spayed. I am up-to-date on shots and looking for a permanent home. Do you think you could be my forever family?

This Mountain Cur/Plott Hound mix was rescued from a kill shelter on his last day. He is between 2-3 years old and medium size at about 45 lbs. Miles has many wonderful qualities: he is housebroken, knows "sit, shake, lay down" commands, and is fine with kids older than 10 years of age. He does like to play rough and this may scare younger children. Miles does not like cats, so we are looking to place him in a cat free home. He has severe confinement anxiety and cannot be crated because he gets too upset; however, he is fine in the house loose. He just likes his freedom! Miles is picky about which doggies he likes. He loves some and is not good with others. Miles walks well on a leash and occasionally pulls when he finds a "good" scent. Miles has a gorgeous brindle coat and a white patch on his chest. It is obvious to us that somebody cared for him; sadly, they never came to reclaim him. Please help Miles find his forever home.

Hi! My name is Poncho. I am male Chihuahua about 2.5 years old. I was rescued from a house in Philly that had almost 100 other dogs. Boy, am I glad to be out of there! I was pretty neglected before. I am working with my foster family to develop my doggie manners. I have learned to walk on a leash and am quickly learning housetraining. I am crate- trained, have all my shots and am neutered. I love to snuggle and I follow my foster mom everywhere. I have heard that I am low maintenance and easy to take care of. I get along well with other dogs and tolerate cats ok, but they are not my favorite. I am looking for a family that will provide me lots of love and security. Are you it?

Hi - I'm Sunshine and I am a 1-2 year old shep mix. I weigh about 30 lbs and I am an extremely affectionate dog!! I love being petted and loved and I love laying by your feet. I get along well with other dogs and cats. I eat side by side with my canine foster siblings and I have no food, bone or toy aggression. I am housebroken once I know your routine. I am shy upon meeting new people (1 or 2 days), but once I know you, I bond with you very quickly. I am up-to-date on shots, am heartworm negative and am on heartworm preventitive.

Interested in adopting one of the dogs listed above? Here are the next steps:
Download our adoption application and fill it out using Microsoft Word. You can email it back to HomeAtLastDogRescue@yahoo.com with the name of the dog you are applying to adopt as the subject line. Please do not send the application in any file format other than Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc).
We will review all applications for each dog in order to make a decision about which home best suits the dog’s needs. Applications are not considered in the order they are received; all applications will be considered in determining the best situation for each dog. Completing an adoption application is not a guarantee that you will receive the dog you are applying for, and Home At Last reserves the right to reject any application as we see fit.
We will call the Personal and Veterinary references you listed on the application and contact you to schedule a home visit. These checks are performed to ensure that you will be a responsible pet parent and that you will provide routine veterinary care for the dog as needed.
During a home visit, we will assess the living situation as well as the dog’s behavior, especially around any children or other pets you may have. If we feel that your home is the best situation for the dog, we will leave him/her there with you assuming you are prepared to receive your new dog. You will be asked to sign our Adoption Contract and a $200.00 adoption fee must be paid to Home At Last Dog Rescue, which is necessary to cover the cost of spaying/neutering, medicating, and transporting our dogs.
In the case of our dogs who are too young to be spayed/neutered (younger than 6 months old), the adoption fee will initially be $300.00. Home At Last will refund the adopter $100.00 once we receive proof that the dog has received the proper surgery upon reaching 6 months of age. We will contact the adopter to ensure the dog has been spayed/neutered at that time, and reserve the right to confiscate the dog if the adopter fails to comply with this detail of our Adoption Contract.
