I'm Bear a 1yr old energetic, loving, medium size Bernese mountain dog/sheltie mix. My foster Mommy says I'm as cute and cuddly as a Teddy Bear. I just made it here from NC where I just missed the gas chamber -- not that life prior to the shelter was so great either. The people there did not love me and left me chained outside all the time. PA has been great! I love to snuggle on the sofa and play with my puppy friends. I love children also. I am neutered, up to date with all my shots and ready for my forever. Could it be with you?

Hi - I am Boomer and I am a 1 year old, 45 pound male boxer in search of my forever home. I am coming from the south on February 11th to find my forever home. The shelter manager in the south says that I am a "very good dog with a really nice temperament." I do have some energy like most boxers but I am not over-energetic. I do not have a high prey drive with cats. The only time I paid attention to the cats was when a cat walked right under my nose and I did not even care. Hi there! My name is Buddy and I'm looking for a family to love and spoil me. I'm a male boxer/terrier mix about 10 months old. I love to play and I have lots of energy, so I'd be happy and safe if I had a nice size fenced in yard to romp around in. I'm about 45 pounds and my foster mom keeps telling me how strong I am. It must be all that healthy food and exercise she gives me. Since I'm still young, I'm still learning the difference between right and wrong, and what's good and bad. My foster mom says I'm very smart, and lovable, too. My name is Gabby! I am a sweet little lady that was dumped at a shelter in Georgia. I was on my last hour when my foster mama saw me and could not let them kill me. I am such a sweet girl. It all started one day when my family decided they could no longer take care of me so they dropped me off at a shelter where I was scared and all alone lying on wet concrete floors with little to eat ... not to mention the overcrowded conditions I was living in. Anyways, they only gave me 7 days to find my forever home, and next thing I knew it was... well... day 7! I was shocked to hear that my life was going to end within an hour if a rescue did not step in to save me. Lucky for me, Home At Last stepped up. They got a veterinary hospital to board me until I could be transported to PA all the way from Georgia. I just cannot wait to finally feel safe and in a warm home. Need a Valentine? Perhaps a funny Valentine? You can only smile when you see my cute under-bite and watch me gallop through the grass! I was not always so happy. I was dropped off at a high kill shelter because after being a loyal companion to a family for the past 10-12 years, they decided to move and left me in a very, very scary place. Some volunteers from Home At Last noticed me cowering in the back of a cage scared to death and shaking. I was very matted and very scared. They immediately rescued me and as soon as I got in the car, I was a new man...wagging my tail and giving out lots of love! I am estimated to be 10 - 12 years of age but do not let that fool you. I still have many happy years ahead of me and cannot wait to live the rest of my life in a forever home. I am energetic, run up and down the steps, love car rides, playing with toys, and of course cuddling on your lap. I don't have the best smile but it sure is quirky.... Don't you think? I also have slight cataracts but can navigate fine! I am up to date on all my shots, neutered and micro-chipped. I really want a loving home so let me be your Valentine!!! HELP US HELP QUEENIE!! We want to save her life and find her a forever home but we need YOUR help! Queenie is a 6 year old, female shepherd who has a mammary tumor and, per the Vet, is likely to be cancerous. This dog was rescued from a very bad situation and spent her entire life on a chain with no care. Her foster mom and Home At Last saved her on her last day at the shelter. She was about to be euthanized because of her tumor and because her time was up! We are bringing Queenie here to PA to get an operation to remove the tumor and clear her of her cancer. She is also heartworm positive so Home at Last will be treating her for the heartworms as well. However, we need your support! We need to raise money to save Queenie's life!!! Extremely low key and happy to share his bachelor quarters with other homeless pets, Scottie goes with the flow and can always be found with a huge grin on his freckled little face. Count on Scottie to hang real close to you....maybe even thinking you are the back of a chair as he leans into you, while you take a quick break mid-walk. Scottie loves being near people and is such a joy to pet as you just know he loves every darn minute of it! Good with other dogs, Thelma eagerly soaks up attention as people come over to say "hi" to her. With her perky little ears, Thelma is primed and ready to hear the words, "You're coming home with me." Thelma is 1-2 years old and up to date on all her shots. Thelma did test positive for heartworm but will be treated and okay to go to her forever home soon!!!

Trixie & Leia
Female Chihuahua/Terrier mix
Hi, we're Trixie and Leia! We are a Dynamic Duo looking to find a forever home together! Our foster mom says we are super cute and lovable! I mean look at us, how can you not resist!!! Trixie is mostly black with long hair, and is the mom to Leia. Trixie is a 5 year old Chihuahua/Terrier mix, and Leia is her 4 year old daughter. They weigh about 10-12 pounds and are super sweet girls! They are really bonded to one another, and to their foster family. Trixie is very outgoing, loves to play ball, chew on her bones, and take care of Leia. Leia is a bit more shy, total cuddle bug, and loves to play too. They get along with kids, cats, and other dogs. They love to cuddle in bed with you at night, and hang on the couch with you during the day. They give kisses and when they need attention they scratch your hand to pet them. They are housebroken as long as you let them out every few hours, they will not have any accidents. They do go in a crate when their foster mom is at work. They never have accidents in their crate. They want to stay together, so the adoption fee on one of Them is being waived. Please adopt us both!

Meet Whiskers! He is a wonderful little dog! He is just over 20 lbs and is a wire-haired terrier mix. He's very sweet and has a soft personality for a little terrier! He is up to date on all of his shots, spayed and ready for his forever home.

Our Adoption Process
Interested in adopting one of the dogs listed above? Here are the next steps:
Complete our online adoption application with the name of the dog you are applying for.
Have you previously submitted an application for a different dog? There’s no need to submit another one unless any of your other information has changed! Just send us an e-mail to let us know which dog you’re currently interested in.
We will review all applications for each dog in order to make a decision about which home best suits the dog’s needs. Applications are not considered in the order they are received; all applications will be considered in determining the best situation for each dog. Completing an adoption application is not a guarantee that you will receive the dog you are applying for, and Home At Last reserves the right to reject any application as we see fit.
We will call the Personal and Veterinary references you listed on the application and contact you to schedule a home visit. These checks are performed to ensure that you will be a responsible pet parent and that you will provide routine veterinary care for the dog as needed.
During a home visit, we will assess the living situation as well as the dog’s behavior, especially around any children or other pets you may have. If we feel that your home is the best situation for the dog, we will leave him/her there with you assuming you are prepared to receive your new dog. You will be asked to sign our Adoption Contract and a $275.00 adoption fee must be paid to Home At Last Dog Rescue, which is necessary to cover the cost of spaying/neutering, medicating, and transporting our dogs.
